Coaching Philosophy
Whether you’re trying for your 10th summit or wanting to move pain free, we can all unlock better movement! Taking the skills we learn in the gym and applying them to our daily lives is the goal whether that’s training for strength, mobility, endurance, and longevity.
I like to encourage athletes to build strong foundations day to day to prepare what their sport or life can throw their way. Durability is an underrated asset. We never realize how important it is until the time comes when we need to execute a task or protect our bodies in a way that isn’t so predictable.
Finding enjoyment out of training! We are all out there challenging ourselves to show up with intention daily and having a community that fosters growth means a lot!
Progression doesn’t always look linear so learning to care for yourself in all stages of training is an important tool!
Experience
I’ve been coaching group fitness classes for 10+ years.
Teachings such as Olympic weightlifting, yoga, CrossFit, and endurance running have all influenced how I assess my clients and their needs as well as the training I do myself.
Group fitness classes have been my main specialty, but I have also individually coached USA weightlifting national competitors, tennis athletes, running athletes, Fit over 55+ classes, along with personal training clients.
Understanding body mechanics in conjunction with skills and demands in things such as avalanche rescue helps me create a training program for a variety of multi-sport athletes.
The Rad Stuff!
I graduated from WWU in 2018 and have lived in Bellingham ever since.
My range of activities has grown over the years from competitive weightlifting to running my first 50 mile race in spring 2025 and none are as easy as anticipated!
Starting from a young age the ocean and boats have been a big part of my life. I typically spend 3-4 months of the year on the water and hold my USCG master captains license.
I have a 6 year old dog named Sophie who keeps me on my toes and will do anything for a treat!
Other hobbies include backcountry snowboarding, snowmobiling, mountain biking, tennis, camping, and cooking!
